On June 3rd an injured kitten was brought to Southwood from Fat Cat Cafe/Feline Associates of Leon County. The male grey/white DSH kitten, est. to be 10 weeks old, had been found on Apalachee Pkwy and Capital Circle. He was not using his right rear leg well. Xrays showed a bad fracture of his right femur, very close to the hip joint. The kitten, named Blake, estimated DOB 3-29-19, was transferred to Northwood to have the amputation performed. Blake did not ultimately need surgery on the leg as it healed well and he has good function.
