On June 2 an injured stray was brought into Northwood.  He was an intact male black and white DSH, est. to be 1-2 years old. We named him Aardvark.  He had likely been hit by a car.  His lower jaw was fractured with his jaw deviated to the left.  He had been found on Hayden and Bellvue streets. He tested negative for FeLV/FIV and was such a sweet heart even as injured as he was.  He had surgery 6-4-19 to repair a mandibular symphyseal fracture. It actually took two tries to get it secured (he disrupted the repair during initial recovery from anesthesia). Aardvark was also neutered, treated for hook worms and round worms and is vaccinated.  Once the wire can be removed from his healing jaw fracture, he will be available for adoption. Aardvark was transferred to Southwood the week of July 8, and his wire was removed August 13th. This sweet boy is ready for a family of his own.
