On Nov. 18, 2022 a laterally recumbent, unresponsive 8 month old brown and white pitbull mix (DOB 5-11-22) was brought to Northwood on emergency by her owner. She had never been vaccinated. Owner reports she seemed fine to him, until he found her collapsed in the backyard with bloody diarrhea. Upon arrival, she was close to death. She was positive for parvo. Blood work showed her blood glucose was very low and other abnormalities consistent with sepsis (blood infection). Owner relinquished her for care. It took 8 days of aggressive IV fluids and medications until Eggnog was able to eat on her own. She developed a severe “diaper rash” from how bad her diarrhea had been. She is all healed now, has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. Now she needs a forever home.
