On November 26, 2022 two dogs were relinquished to Northwood Animal Hospital, Sirius and Narcissa.  They had been dumped at one of our doctor’s farms.  Narcissa appears to be a purebred German Shepherd, estimated to be 9 months of age (DOB 3-26-22).  She did test positive for heartworms, hookworms and whipworms  and is in process of having that all  treated.  She has been spayed and prophylactic gastropexy performed to prevent bloat/torsion (German Shepherds are prone to bloat/torsion as a breed). She can be placed in a home now, as long as they are able to bring her back to Northwood to complete her heartworm treatment, the cost of which is covered by the rescue. She should be in a home without a cat.
