On August 6, 2024, an ill kitten was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency.  The owners had found the sickly black and white kitten 2 weeks prior.  They had been trying to find a rescue willing to take the kitten but had not been successful.

She had had chronic diarrhea and upper respiratory tract signs (runny eyes, runny nose, and sneezing) since they found her.  However, she had started eating some flowers in the  home, nothing particularly toxic, but now she was vomiting profusely.  They relinquished her to the hospital for the care she needed.

She was presented as an 8 week old kitten, but on exam it was found that she already had some adult incisor teeth erupting so she was estimated to actually be about 4 months old.  She is a tiny thing.

Bloodwork and xrays did not show any serious abnormalities.  She was mildly anemic and had an  intestinal parasite, hookworms.  She was hospitalized and started in IV fluids and medications until she was able to start on oral meds.  We named her Oogie.  Her estimated DOB is 3-22-24.

Oogie responded well to treatment.  She has progressed through her kitten vaccines, was negative for FeLV and FIV, has been dewormed, spayed and microchipped.

She is now ready for her forever home.
