A Litter of 5, transferred from Moultrie Humane Society (via FALC-Feline Advocates of Leon County). According to the records from the Humane Society, they had been found in Moultrie at Halls Trail.

CARE received a plea for help.  There was a litter of 5 kittens, all with some degree of eye infection but one in particular, Peanut, needed surgery.  The infection in his left eye was so bad that his eye had ruptured.  He needed to have that eye removed.

CARE agreed to take in and care for the entire litter.  They were transferred to CARE on Sept 13th.  Their estimated DOB was 7-25-24.

Peanut’s eye was causing him pain, so the decision was made to take him to surgery, even though he was still so little.  On Sept 19th, he was anesthetized.  Unfortunately, he did not handle anesthesia well and soon after being given anesthetic drugs his heart stopped.  The surgical team worked to try and bring him back for about an hour, but we were unable to save Peanut.

The rest of his litter responded well to medical treatment of their eyes/upper respiratory tract infections.  They have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and have completed their kitten vaccines and are ready for adoption, just in time for Christmas.

Only Daisy, Mickey and Minnie are still available for adoption.
