On June 30th a very ill Miniature Schnauzer puppy (salt and pepper, male, DOB 4-23-19) presented to Northwood on emergency. The new owner (that had just purchased him that day) and the breeder were both present. The puppy had received an OTC “tractor supply” vaccine 3 weeks prior. However, he was vomiting, having diarrhea and not eating. The parvo test was a strong positive. Neither the breeder nor the new owner were ready for the the financial responsibility of treating parvo so the puppy was relinquised to Northwood. His name is Arnold. Arnold responded well to treatment and within a few days he was eating and not vomiting. Arnold spent is quarantine period in isolation and is now so happy to be out and about again. Arnold was transferred to Southwood 7-15-19 for his neuter and to proceed with his puppy vaccines. He is ready for a new home now.
