On March 9th, a very ill 9 month old kitten (DOB 5-29-22) was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency by her owner. The kitten was vomiting and passing bloody fluid from her vulva. On exam, a life threatening ruptured pyometra (uterine infection) with resulting septic peritonitis was diagnosed. The owner could not proceed with emergency surgery and the extensive hospitalization needed so they elected to relinquish her to Northwood for care. She had emergency surgery followed by aggressive medical treatment and over time, she was a more healthy cat. She is negative for FeLV/FIV, has been vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She was a little wary of people initially, but has warmed to use and now craves attention. She is ready for her forever home.
