On August 11, 2024 a badly injured domestic rabbit was brought to Northwood Animal Hospital on emergency. Owner was not sure how it happened, maybe got the paw caught in cage, but the rabbit had an open fracture, with bone exposure, of the right rear leg. The leg was not even pointing in the right direction anymore. She is a 6 month old (estimated DOB 2-11-24) tri colored female. Owner tried to come up with the funds to get surgery for the bunny but was not successful. Owner returned with her 2 days later and relinquished her to the hospital so she could have the surgery she needs. We named her Pumpkin Seed.
She had surgery to amputate the leg a few days later. She was spayed and had a microchip placed as well. Pumpkin Seed has healed well and is ready for a new home.
