On May 31st an injured 1 year old female tan Chihuahua mix (7 lbs) was brought to Northwood on emergency. She had been attacked by her housemates and now could not use her left front leg. X-rays showed a displaced fracture of her left ulna with concurrent luxation of her elbow. Surgery to try repair the injuries was discussed, but may not be successful. Amputation of the leg was also discussed. The owner could not manage either option and decided to relinquish her to Northwood for care. Rosa had her left front leg amputated on June 2 and she is now getting around fine. She is heart-worm negative. She has been spayed, micro-chipped and her vaccines updated while in our care, she was treated for fleas and hook worms. Rosa is ready to
be adopted.
